{{Smith & Tinker Androids}} {{Population Percentage: 5% }} HistoryAndroids are the upgraded versions of the simple machines and robots that were common in the Outer Zone 200 years ago. While the original creations were obviously mechanical and served roles as servants, the new versions look completely human and can be programmed to fufill any role, soldier, nurturer or assassin.
As a people, their history has been influenced by the business Smith and Tinker. Buying out other competitors, the best and (eventually the only) manufacturer of androids, Smith and Tinker churned out androids until the year 1958.
In 1958 a malfunctioning android led a rebellion against organics. The Tik-Tok Liberation Army took it's name from an older model that had been deactivated. They spread from Central City into the country. Forty humans, fays and shapeshifters were murdered before the Tin Men subdued the rogue androids.
Queen Ozma granted the Tik-Tok Liberation Army a town, Milltown as long as they stayed there permanently. The army's ringleaders were taken into custody. All post-1958 androids are very expensive, rare and properly programmed. PersonalityThey can develop unique human-like personalities but memory wipes attempt to correct these errors. Once common, they are now rare, grouping in Milltown and hostile to all humans. Azkadellia and the witch used magic instead of technology and have repeatedly tried to destroy these "walking heresies".
Milltown Andriods can be especially erratic and violent. AppearanceThey appear in human form but beneath the surface, they are a mass of wiring and circuits. They wear clothing like organics but do not change often as they do not sweat. PowersAndroids are stronger than humans with a better sense of balance. They can also make faster decisions due to their programming and quick computerized mind. Insults/Slang- No Humans Allowed (Chant of the Tik Tok Liberation Army)
- Cold, hard reality. (Referring to being practical.)
- Everything's better in Milltown.
OtherAndroids can be programmed to appear as husband and wife, and can form close relationships but it is not known whether they can truly feel love or just mimic the appearance of it.

{{Homo sapiens lurline}} {{Population Percentage: 25% }} HistoryBy nature creatures in tuned with their magical abilities, they are possibly the oldest inhabitants of the OZ. Holding claim to having made the OZ spin off from the Other Side, a rich history is part of Fay Heritage.
Both as capable of good and evil as any other creature, early in their existance, all were known as Witches. Some time after the Great Gale's arrival, Evil and Good took names upon themselves. Good, became called Fays. Bad, Witches or Sorceresses.PersonalityPersonalities are varied. Fays are capable of great strength and endurance. But, can be emotionally unstable. Varying from outbursts, or cut off from basic emotions.
Tending towards vanity, they do enjoy looking nice for the most part, and adore compliments. Although, this varies with the Fay as much as it would with a Human. AppearanceSofter featured then many other species, the Fay tend to have some exaggerated feature. Either in body, or style. It has been seen in Females, that they tend to fix their hair in ornate designs, or in the way of genetics, have large or oddly colored eyes.
Males sometimes have creative ways of cutting their facial hair, and also have colors such as white, purple or bright green in their eyes.
Tending toward dresses, female Fays usually wear dresses. Pastel in color, and light in fabric. For darker individuals, metal is used to ornament the clothing.
Males seem to wear dressy clothing, even if a little tattered. But, the style is once again, up to the Fay.Insults/Slang- Great and Powerful. (Sarcastic remark)
- You're not my- (End with 'friend' or relation. Used sparingly, as is a deep insult.)
- Thank Heavens/Thank the Stars/By Heavens/By the Stars (Exclamation)

[ {{Homo sapiens sapiens}} {{Population Percentage: 40% }} HistoryThe most plentiful and versatile of the Oz's inhabitants, they are often native but can be lost travelers from the Os. They come in all shapes and sizes and colors and all sorts of professions. They can be tin men or longcoats.
Under Azkadellia's rule, they were the dominant species. The one she favored - being one-half human herself - and the one she left alone because she found other races to exploit. PersonalityA varied species, Humans are hard to typify as a species. They are capable of great kindness, great evil, they bring freedom and they bring destruction.
They do tend to be opinionated and arrogant over other races. AppearanceTo other species, they are very boring. Humans skin comes in various shades, from pale ivory to black. Eyes can be bright or dark with the most common colors being blue, green, hazel, brown or black.
Human men dress in pants, long trenches, buttoned shirts and hats. Human women wear ankle-length dresses or skirts and shirtwaists. Some more daring women wear rouge and pants. [li] Deadly Desert! (Exclamation of Surprise)
[/li][li] Ain't that right, (Ends a smug statement) [/li][li] Thank Heavens/Thank the Stars/By Heavens/By the Stars (Exclamation) [/li][/ul]

{{Homo genomos tor}} {{Population Percentage: Unknown}} HistoryAn ancient species, Nomes have seemed mythical due to their aloof nature and natural camouflage. Sometimes depicted in the Zone's history as bumbling and humorous, they reject that concept and consider themselves very nice and very sensible unlike the sun-burned citizens above their caverns.
Believing that the surface-races are thieves (from stealing gemstones from the earth) the Nomes come out of hiding everyone few hundred years to rob jewelry stores, banks and palaces before slipping back into their holes. More ambitious leaders have tried to conquer the other races and other worlds but inevitably, the Nomes are defeated. In their version of events, however, they didn't like it on the surface very much and decided to do the sensible thing and go underground again. PersonalityNomes are not great thinkers. Their machines are often archaic. Their words are simple. They don't like change, and resist anything innovative or new. They don't like any races well, including their own, and spend their energies looking at and polishing gems.
They can be very protective of objects. A Nome might commit murder to obtain a shiny coin or a small sparkling quartz. However, they hide their hoardes very well and that prohibits most violence between fellow Nomes. AppearanceNomes have red, brown or orange eyes. Many Nomes are bald or grow coarse wiry hair and plait and decorate it with gems. Their ears are small and tend to stick out. Nomes are normally shorter than other species.
Their skin is commonly colored in grays, whites, browns and blues. Nomes with rare black skin are considered very handsome. Their skin is tough, flexible and thick, almost identical to rock. It is heavy which makes Nomes slow and ponderous but the armor/skin protects them in combat. During certain seasons, their skin will flake off in hard scale-like bits and new lighter skin will appear.
Clothing is molded from rock and wire or leather from up-top. Common people have one or two outifits, while nobility may have three or four with ropes of precious stones or shiny metal pieces.PowersNomes can survive in deep caverns only needing a minimal amount of air. This would come in handy in the water, but Nomes dislike wetness and it has not been tested.
Nomes can phase their bodies through stone and some forms of manmade "rocks" like cement and brick. They cannot phase through anything living (people, plants or animals) or now-dead objects (wood, bones or shells). They can phase without coming up for air for six to seven minutes and many a Nome has died because he forgot to come up in time. They can carry passengers but it causes the Nome to need air faster (three to four minutes) and knocks out the passenger.
While phasing, Nomes are graceful and fast. Their greatest phasers can reach top speeds of forty miles per hour for a short time. Insults/Slang- Snitch! (can be an insult or a compliment. As long as they didn't steal it from you, you would be happy to call a Nome with a new pretty this term)
- Snitchery (act of stealing)
- Nicey-nice or Pretty-pretty (something precious and beautiful)
- Glistening Slate! (exclamation of surprise)
- Poison-plant (a person or thing that ruins everything)
- Ivories (Nome eggs and young children)
[/li][/ul] OtherDue to a medical condition, most Nomes do not have long memories; living for hundreds of years, but remembering only the past half-hour's events. Some believe this forgetful condition was caused by being forced to mine too deeply and being exposed to strange vapors; effecting the minds of the workers. The condition is common and runs in families and communities. Higher ranking officials are free of this but it is not certain whether it is because their ancestors were protected from the vapors or because level-headed men with good memory are better suited for government positions.
Children are not common. Nomes feel the need to create offspring after eight-hundred years and anyone who bears children before that time is considered irresponsible. Nomes pick their lifelong mates and marry in an elaborate ceremony but tend to forget the entire thing and live separately. They turn very unromantic and selfish in their old age.
Nomes lay eggs which grow to the size of a basketball before hatching. The children are "adopted" by anyone interested and raised by them. It is not uncommon for a mother-figure to have several dozen "ivories" while an actual mother has no idea where her children are or which ones are hers. While other species children would feel unwanted, Nomes soon become accustomed to being alone and self-sufficient.

{{Homo vantheira vantheira}} {{Population Percentage: 20%}} HistoryOne of the early races, Viewers have lived tranquil lives in their village for millenia. A small species, they never expanded far from their forest. Currently, most families are broken by Azkadellia's reign and are trying to piece together lives and find loved ones while rebuilding their home.
Personality Emotional, kind and gentle, Viewers tend to take on the emotions of those around them. They grow content when others are happy and disturbed when others are angry. They can be stubborn and courageous when riled but spend the majority of their time admiring life. AppearanceFeline-like empaths, the viewers have long hair which can be of varying shades of gold, brown and black. They have dark eyes and feline like noses. They often wear animal furs and skins.
The men are of larger build then the women but neither grow to be very intimidating, under all the fur, they are quite slender. . PowersViewer males are empathic with the ability to "read emotions", "read the past" by touching objects or being in an area where strong emotions were felt. Some, known as Prophets, have visions of the future.
Viewer Females are very rarely empathic which explains why they were not used by Azkadellia for viewing. Instead the women are gifted with extreme grace and athleticism.
They have excellent senses of smell. Insults / Slang- Not one of us (stranger, exiled Viewer, "You don't belong")
- Mud-puppy (insult; meaning unknown)
- Heartless Toad (stoic, unemotional)
- Kit (infant or young viewers)
[/li][/ul] OtherFamilies are very close and only married couples leave the family hut.
Marriages are simple among the Viewers consisting of merely the council pronouncing them man and wife and are accomplished without fuss or pomp.
Children normally are born in kits of two or three but kits of one are not unheard of, as are kits of four or five. They are considered the greatest blessing in life and losing a kit devastates the parents.

{{Homo genomos therian}} {{Population Percentage: Unknown}} HistoryAn offshoot of the Fay Race, that mingled with Viewers decades ago, Shapeshifters have always been feared and mistrusted. Living among humans, they have tried to integrate into "normal" society but factions remain that consider themselves "pure-shifters" and only interbreed with each other.
While most of the Shifters have lived unremarkable lives, an occasional individual will step into history. These legends were not more powerful than average shifters but merely more adept at bridging the divide between their species and humanity; and having the odd desire to try to change their world and not just survive it. PersonalityShapeshifters are normally classified as devious. As they have been told through the years, that they are untrustworthy, they tend to begin to believe it. Shifters look out for their own kind and regard other species with fear, or as easy targets for exploitation. AppearanceShifters appear as normal humans. But depending on their powers, they can change into one (or for the very powerful, several) animals. PowersMost Shapeshifters can only assume the shape of a single animal. Most of them take the forms of small mammals such as dogs or foxes or larger mammals like tigers, wolves and lions.
They gain the animal's speed, agility and enhances senses. Those that constantly use their powers can be influenced by "animal" thoughts and can turn feral and wild.
Very powerful Shifters can change their human appearance into another humanoid shape but it must be of similar height and weight. Normally, with this ability, they are not able to transform into an animal. Insults / Slang- Fearless (someone who puts their life on the line for someone else. Any act of compassionate stupidity)
- Giant Ant-Eater! (Exclamation. Commonly referring to a bad shifting power or a useless person)
- It came to me in a dream (a ridiculous lie typically follows this statement)
- I'm a friend of the family (Common greeting of a complete stranger)
[/li][/ul] OtherShifters are born with the appearance of a human (or fay) infant but soon begin transforming into small animals. Mothers loose their ability to transform during the pregnancy and for two months after. This natural "safety feature" prevents a rabbit shifter from giving birth to an enormous wolf cub.
Shapeshifters are drifters, they do not have a village or a country of their own but blend into other cultures. Some OZ natives fear that they are planning to replace key members of government and takeover but most regard this belief as superstitious nonsense.
